Snohomish High School will Host 2nd Fight Against Hunger Event

Dream Dinners and Friends and Family Community Connection (FFCC) are once again teaming up with Snohomish High School to host a Fight Against Hunger event on Wednesday, May 10.

Hosted in the Snohomish High School auxiliary gym from 7:30 am and continuing throughout the day, organizers and students hope to raise $40,000 to package 150,000 meals that day. Approximately 50,000 meals will stay local and go to the Snohomish Food Bank. The remainder will go to Haiti.

This is the second year Snohomish High School students have partnered with Dream Dinners and FFCC on a Fight Against Hunger event. We founded Dream Dinners to make life easier for families everywhere, and as part of that vision we have a deep commitment to the communities we serve, and that includes our own backyard.

Snohomish High School teacher Ben Doucette’s advanced marketing class is taking the lead on organizing this year’s event. More than 25 local businesses have donated to help make this event happen. Some of the sponsors will be participating as well as the kids from some of the area elementary schools.

Looking to the future, through the Living the Dream Foundation and FFCC, Dream Dinners hopes to continue to partner with additional schools to make good on its mission to grow great kids and educate the next generation to positively impact their communities locally and globally.

Thanks to generous donations from the Snohomish Kiwanis, SYSCO, Not Yet Foundation, and others this event has continued to grow.

The meals packaged at this event will have an immediate impact in communities in Haiti that are still struggling. Many children in our communities and abroad experience food insecurity, and through this program we are providing a nutritious and wholesome hand-up to create a culture of more capable individuals.
